Education Programmes
Many of our bring banks are sited in or close to schools and we become actively involved with schoolchildren to encouraging them to engage in and learn about recycling.
Working with teachers and local authorities, we can provide a structured programme to integrate recycling so that it becomes an everyday part of school life and an extension to the school curriculum. Such educational programmes fit comfortably within the primary curriculum but can equally support subjects at secondary level such as geography, science and technology.
As part of an educational programme and by special arrangement, we may also be able to conduct visits to our local recycling facilities where children can see how their materials – from bring banks or the kerbside – are sorted and processed. Children derive greater value from such visits when the visit is part of a wider project on recycling and when they prepare and present a piece of work based on their learning.
