How we recycle mixed containers
The mixed container material streams are collected from kerbside and bring bank schemes and separated at one of our sorting facilities located around the UK.
The container sorting lines can process and sort mixed plastic, cans and glass into single stream materials. The mechanical sorting process provides high quality recycled materials for UK end users. This provides an efficient and flexible system to allow materials from local authorities and commercial customers to be sorted to the required standards.
At certain facilities we have can sorting equipment which provides an effective way of separating mixed can material into steel and aluminium grades. Once separated the materials are then sent on to one of our strategic UK end user reprocessors.
